► It's time for a look at the beautiful Engaku-Ji, a zen buddhist temple area, located in Kita Kamakura. It was founded in 1282, and ranks as the second most important temple in Kamakura. It has been damaged by both fires and earthquakes countless times, but repaired and rebuilt as needed along the way. It's a great place to go sightseeing, as the temple compound is quite large, with many annexes, prayer halls and green areas.
