The New York Times and Reuters have reported that Israel's Mossad agency injected explosives into the pagers that exploded across Lebanon and Syria on Tuesday. Hezbollah had reportedly ordered 5,000 pagers from Taiwan-based firm Apollo Gold. The first batch of 3,000 pagers was delivered a few months ago. The reports said that Mossad laced each of those pagers with nearly 3 gram of explosives and modified them to go off when a message is sent. On September 17, Hezbollah operatives with the pagers received a message. Before they opened it a beeping sound went off, and the pagers exploded.
