6 Music presenter Craig Charles celebrates arguably one of the greatest albums ever recorded - Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Going On’ which turns 50 this year. In 1971 the album reflected the huge social and political issues that were dividing America. The country was dealing with multiple issues - racial and social divides, the ongoing Vietnam War, a deteriorating economy, and police brutality. As part of the 50th celebrations Craig Charles has invited Ernie McKone's Fantasy Funk Band to re-imagine tracks from the album, with guest vocalists Terri Walker, Ego Ella May and Joel Culpepper performing live at The BBC Radio Theatre.
