“Moving elegantly amidst a busy crowd“ is the essence we envisioned for this collection. In a world often dictated by meticulously planned calendars, detailed itineraries, and perfectly curated posts, we find ourselves preoccupied with the blueprint of a predefined path—living under the shadow of perfectionism. Yet, in this collection, we embrace the inevitability of reflection and the courage to embrace new scenery. Every piece is a testament to the transformative journey — whether it involves moving out from an old apartment, shifting away from old habits, or stepping into a new career path. In the pulse of life, the concept of 'moving' strikes a chord, thrusting us into action even as we grapple with its implications. The swift decision to move contrasts sharply with the deliberate, unhurried process of physically transitioning, which can be a challenge to digest both physically and mentally. Through our meticulously designed garments, we aim to encapsulate this profound experience — an enlightenment that encourages you to respond differently to discomfort, carefully preserving precious memories and bidding farewell to the old version of yourself as you move forward on your journey. It's not just about changing locations; it's about shedding layers, sifting through possessions, and deciding which aspects of ourselves we want to carry forward. Moving becomes a dual dance — one of decisive momentum and the other, a deliberate reflection on the parts of ourselves we leave behind. Building upon the essence of home, we intricately integrate the comforting textures of home into our collection. The suede-finished technical fabrication and lustrous washed satins echo the ambiance of a living room, while the linen-bonded fabric with a towel-like surface offers the cozy sensation of a robe. Taking inspiration from David Hammon's “untitled“ textile series, we aim to capture the imprint of time versus usage through staining wash and discharge wash techniques. This contrast extends to our handcrafted canvas fabrics, mirroring the pull and tear of moving covers. Season after season, the sports theme continues to be our spotlight. Beyond the enduring favorite NBA player Kevin Garnett, David Beckham also holds a special place in the collection's creative process. Their shared commitment to relentless effort in search of excellence and challenges by moving from team to team aligns seamlessly with NAMESAKE's journey, navigating the twists and turns of life. Dream-like details of technical fabrics breathe life into the envisioned objects of a NAMESAKE home. A dance between reflections and illusions, our design narrative draws inspiration from the striking contrasts found in the styles of Robert Morris and Ross Lovergrove. Picture a signature piece, a glimpse into the future of a NAMESAKE-inspired home, all while staying true to the timeless design principles of Dieter Rams. In the heart of every home lie family and friends, and in our envisioned dream home, two graceful collaborations serve as the warmth and focal point. It's like a friendly competition with Pet-Tree-Kor, on a court entering the final quarter. After rounds of competitive shoots and defense, both teams find their own perspective, celebrating the beauty and balance in the nature of progression. Additionally, as an influential figure to the brothers, the godfather of NAMESAKE's founder opens a discussion of clashing ideas between eras. With over 40 years in the clothing industry, this friendly yet intriguing new dialogue for the collection. FR AR Studio played a pivotal role in creating a nature-inspired installation that challenges perceptions and evolves with varying points of view. Their approach involves a more structural and mechanical system, resulting in an unconventional yet comfortingly familiar portrayal of home. The integration of hardware elements, such as aluminum, fiberglass mesh, and resin, into natural weave fibers and wood establishes a rhythmic harmony, crafting a nature that exceeds expectations. Our reinterpretation of “blueprint“ transcends the notion of perfection in every 'move' in life; it's about adjusting the pace of our steps to make every move feel like the perfect stride.
