Al Sharpton Organized Protest Against Billionaire After Harvard President’s Resignation Civil rights figure Al Sharpton led a group of protestors who were organizing in front of billionaire Bill Ackman’s offices in Manhattan Thursday in response to the resignation of former Harvard University president Claudine Gay. Ackman, a critic of the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) movement, claimed Gay was chosen for her role because of her race and gender. Gay resigned from her role as Harvard’s president after facing nearly 50 allegations of plagiarism and criticism for her responses to a congressional hearing about antisemitism. The protest, which was attended by nearly two dozen people, included chants such as, “No justice, no peace“ and “If we don’t get it, shut it down.“ Ackman was reportedly out of the country at the time of the protest.
