We live in the Milky Way, a barred spiral galaxy. It has 100 to 400 billion stars and spans about 150 to 200 kly. It lies in the Local Group, along with the Andromeda and Triangulum and other 51 galaxies. The Laniakea Supercluster encompasses approximately 100,000 galaxies; and is stretched out over 160 megaparsecs or 520 million light years. It has the approximate mass of 10¹⁷ solar masses. It consists of four subparts, which were known previously as separate superclusters. The entire supercluster consists of approximately 300 to 500 known galaxy clusters and groups. More of them may be present along the direction of the Zone of Avoidance. The Great Attractor lies towards Laniakea's central gravitational point near Norma. Some of Laniakea's neighbors are Shapley Supercluster, Hercules Supercluster, Coma Supercluster and Perseus-Pisces Supercluster. All these are part of the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster Complex.
