At Sasol, not only are our physical and financial assets of the utmost importance, but we also care deeply about the overall wellbeing of our people, our planet and our communities. It is for this reason that Sasol Secunda executes a shutdown (internationally also known as a turnaround) every year to perform statutory maintenance in the factory. This year's shutdown was a much bigger shutdown in comparison to 2021. During the shutdown just over 195 000 activities were completed which equates to approximately 2.4 million man hours, 244 cranes were utilised to execute high lifts and maintenance work and 2 457 welding teams did maintenance work on our assets.
