The Human Instinct were a New Zealand blues rock band active from the late 1960s until the early 1980s. The band's commercial peak was from 1969 to 1971, when albums featured the Jimi Hendrix-inspired guitar work of Billy Tekahika, professionally known as Billy TK. Members included Steve McDonald (Celtic music). Burning Up Years was the debut album by New Zealand blues-rock band The Human Instinct. It was released in 1969 and reissued on CD by Ascension Records in 2001. “Maiden Voyage“ was originally recorded by Ashton, Gardner & Dyke's, and is wrongly credited to Maurice Greer.
