In this video, OZARK, Mo. (KY3) - The Ozark Police Department recently received three donated Harley-Davidson motorcycles to improve traffic safety in the city. Lt. Jared Drye said there’s only one officer certified to ride the motorcycles as of right now, but they’re planning on pushing more officers through an extensive training process. “The training to become a motor officer goes beyond just having a motorcycle endorsement or knowing how to ride a motorcycle. There’s a specific course, qualifications, things like that you have to actually achieve because you are combining that while also doing law enforcement functions so integrating those two things together and doing it safely is going to a priority that requires that extra training,” Lt. Drye said.
