This is my rendition of Jacob Collier's beautiful tune “The Sun Is In Your Eyes.“ This tune appeared in my Spotify feed as a “Voice Memo“ from Jacob Collier's EP a few months ago... it's very different from his usual style but I think it's absolutely beautiful and may be my all-time favorite song of his. This is in 31-EDO on the Lumatone using my Bosanquet layout, played using the Grand Blüthner patch in Pianoteq. I show a few 7-limit and 11-limit things you can do with the harmony (though I kept it subtle this time). I think I'll revisit this tune later with a deeper reharmonization and arrangement of it; I think it'd sound great with strings. This is also a “welcome to the fold“ to Jacob Collier, who just got his own Lumatone... I am super stoked to see what he'll do with it! I've been a huge fan of him pretty much from the very beginning, with the “Isn't She Lovely“ and “Pure Imagination“ videos and etc... Whatever he does on the Lumatone keyboard, it's sure to be incredible stuff. Hope you all enjoy, and
