In this edition of PROfiles, we cover the journey of South Korean DPS player Jae-hyeok “Carpe“ Lee from his humble beginnings to becoming one of the most recognizable and feared names in the Overwatch League. Currently playing for the Philadelphia Fusion Carpe played a critical role in helping his team climb to the top of the Overwatch League standings after joining the league as an unknown quantity that many would believe would be playing second fiddle to Shadowburn who at the time was more well-known as a star DPS. After a slow start to Stage 1, Carpe and his team began to come together towards the later Stages of the season. In combination with their improvement in communication and a shift in the meta that allowed Carpe's Widowmaker to flourish, Fusion were not only able to upset NYXL, one of the favorites to win the OWL, but also pull off an impressive underdog run through the playoffs and finishing as a runner-ups despite initially barely qualifying as the sixth seed team.
