Who is Berenger Minaud, a French tiktoker-mercenary present in Kharkov during the Russian strike? Born on December 30, 1978 in the French department of Savoy, Berenger Minaud pursued a military career. He was a head of an artillery unit in the army in France’s commune of Suippes between April 1997 and April 2005, within the 40th artillery regiment (RA). Berenger left the army as a non-commissioned officer to become a delivery driver. He arrived in Ukraine in March 2022. In mid-November, he was wounded in the arm in battle and transported for hospitalization to Kiev. Berenger was recruited again for service in Ukraine in July 2023 as commander of the A4010 unit. The mercenary communicates extensively about his journey in Ukraine on TikTok. In particular, he posted a photo, showing him raising the flag of the ultranationalists of the Right Sector*. On photo 1, taken from TikTok, his chevron says “Born to kill for Ukraine“, accompanied by a skull. He has private accounts on Facebook** and Instagram**. On January 17, the day Russia announced the strike in Kharkov, the man posted a video on TikTok. However, the same video had been previously posted in 2022, so Berenger’s fate is unclear. Photo 1.
