Notorious child killer Andrea Yates has been in a mental hospital since she was convicted of murdering her five children over two decades ago. Yates drowned all five of her kids in her bathtub at their Houston home in 2001 when she was 37 years old. She waited for her husband to go to work before killing each child, one by one. Part of Yates’ conviction terms give her a chance to undergo a review each year. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down what happened when Yates’ competency hearing approached last month.
