Buerger’s disease is a peripheral vascular disorder which affects medium sized vessels of the lower limbs. Lumbar sympathectomy usually results in relief from rest pain and increases the claudication distance. The sympathetic chain though very deep seated can be easily tackled by retroperitoneal approach.
