Neolamprologus multifasciatus, are the tiny fishes belong to the cichlid community. I have a colony of 7 (2 male & 5 female) of this fishes in my 50 litters tank. This tiny shell dwellers r probably the smallest known cichlid species & r endemic to lake Tanganyika. They r highly territorial, defend its shell & the small territory around it vigorously. They r really fun to watch as they really like to dig and play around its shells. Not easy to sex when young but adult males are considerably larger than females. They also have slightly more intense colouration and a reddish tint to the upper part of the dorsal fin.
