No, I don't own, I am not proud. “Mr. Moustache“ was inspired by Kurt's own comic strip of the same name. You can see it here: Both the comics and the song target typical machos and rednecks, the type of people Kurt had to deal with in his small rural home town of Aberdeen. The first studio attempt on “Mr. Moustache“ was made during the “Love Buzz“ single sessions at Reciprocal Recordings in the summer of 1988 with Lack Endino. This version wasn't officially released but is available on YT with the rest of the session: The final version from “Bleach“ was recorded in December 1988 during the “Bleach“ sessions at the same studio with same old Jack Endino. “Mr. Moustache“ (alongside “Scoff“, “Sifting“ and “Blew“) became a part of Nirvana's Doom Pop experiment. During the sessions, they wanted to record several songs in a full-step-down tuning to achieve some extra heaviness, tuned down the guitars but forgot that they already were in that tuning. So, they ended up two steps down. That was too heavy, the Doom Pop idea was abandoned, “Mr. Moustache“ and the other songs were re-recorded. The only survivor of the experiment is “Blew“, Nirvana kept the two-steps-down version and included it on “Bleach“. “Mr. Moustache“ was debuted live around the time of the “Bleach“ sessions, in December 1988 in Hoquiam. Krist played in his underwear and jammed briefly at the beginning of the show on the Led Zeppelin songs “Heartbreaker“ and “Dazed And Confused“ and the Kiss song “She“. The last performance was in November 1990 in Seattle. The show was interrupted at the beginning of “Dive,“ so the venue could be cleared of alcohol before they continued to play. Lyrics: Fill me in on your new vision Wake me up with indecision Help me trust your mighty wisdom Yes I eat cow I am not proud Show me how you question, question Lead the way to my temptations Take my hand and give it cleaning As I eat cow I am not proud Easy as an easy-chair Poop as hard as rock I don't like you anyway Sealed in a box I'm new Damn you Fill me in on your new vision Wake me up with indecision Help me trust your mighty wisdom Yes I eat cow I am not proud Show me how you question, question Lead the way to my temptations Take my hand and give it cleaning Yes I eat cow I am not proud Easy as an easy-chair Poop as hard as rock I don't like you anyway Silly little fucks I'm new I'm who? (x2) I'm you
