In this video, I make a block plane based on a few 450-year-old planes originally made by Leohnard Danner. The making of this plane required all of my skill and a few I didn't have. Steel with a floral etching. 4-3/8“ long x 1-1/4“ wide x 1-1/2“ tall (3“ with the tote). 7/8“ wide blade. It weighs in at 2lbs. Riveted construction. 1084 (Rc62) blade. Handcrafted tools, decor, and channel merch: 0:00 Recreating a 450-Year-Old Hand Plane 0:08 The Tote 1:35 The Thumb Screw 2:56 The Insides 3:27 The Outsides 4:48 The Bridge 5:15 Assembly 9:19 The Blade 10:47 The Talking Bit - About 12:12 Materials 15:22 Functionality 15:53 The End
