A married British zoologist who worked for the BBC and National Geographic on wildlife documentaries has pleaded guilty to 60 charges of raping and torturing dozens of dogs at his animal shelter in Australia. Adam Britton, 51, who grew up in West Yorkshire, moved to Australia over 20 years ago to pursue his passion for crocodiles. He became a renowned expert in the field, holding an academic position at Charles Darwin University and hosting David Attenborough at his property while filming part of the Life in Cold Blood series. However, behind his respectable facade, Britton had a “sadistic sexual interest” in animals, especially dogs, since at least 2014.
