This week we are talking about the transformation of our temporary hoop shelter into a permanent greenhouse. This has been a much longer process than originally thought, but we really pleased with the final result. This greenhouse is built on top of two raised beds. The raised beds are made from 2x6x12 foot boards along the long sides and 2x6x4 foot boards (8 foot boards cut in half) on the short sides. They are attached to each other in a spiral pattern, end to side. This makes the overall size of the beds 4' 1.5“ by 12' 1.5“. There is a 30“ walkway between the beds. So, the overall footprint of the greenhouse is 12' 1.5“ by 10' 9“. Then on the outsides of the raised beds there is a 2 foot high wall that the cattle panels are attached to. The southern wall has clear plastic covering it and the northern wall has paneling. The roof is made from two 16 foot cattle panels that are 50“ wide and one 16 foot hog panel that is 34“ wide.
