Sofia's favourite song, and maybe the best video-recorded live performance of it. Lyrics by her favourite poet (“the world's best poet“), Dan Andersson, 1888-1920, and melody by Gunnar Turesson, 1906-2001. The lovely little “tune within the tune“ - the fiddle tune between the verses - was written by Esbjörn Hazelius. Dan Andersson was Gunnar Turesson's brother-in-law, and he encouraged Turesson early on in his musical endeavours. Turesson was only 16 when he wrote the tune to “Jag väntar...“.
