Titles read: “Designing Ladies - with commentary by Mrs Giles Borrett, late Lady Announcer, BBC“. London. M/S of Mrs Giles Borrett, a very elegant and refined woman with pointed eyebrows and wearing a jacket with a large fur collar, talking to camera about man thinking only he can design woman's dresses that “give delight to the wearer and a heart attack to the payer“. Fade out. Fade into shot of several young women in a classroom at a school, sketching while their tutor points out features of a suit worn by a model. Nice shots of the pupils sketching their own designs. Then one of the girls comes forward, takes off her overalls to reveal her petticoat while four of the others drape some satin fabric on her to create one of the designs we have just seen being sketched. They cleverly pin the fabric in place and the girl turns around to show off the design - divine! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
