Derek Warwick is a former racing driver who competed in 147 Formula 1 races in the 80s and early 90s. He is currently the president of the British Racing Drivers Club and an FIA driver steward, for instance at Monaco 2014. Derek won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1992 and was World Sportscar Champion in the same year. I met with Derek in his lovely house in Jersey to talk about his life in racing. In this fascinating portrait he talks about his progression from Superstoxx to the pinnacle of motorsport, how he always seemed to pick the wrong cars and why Ayrton Senna did not want him to be his team mate in Lotus in 1986.
