Hey guys! In this video I bring a gaúcha knife. For those who don't know the term “gaucho“ refers to some native peoples of southern South America. People from outside Brazil can associate the shape of the blade with Mediterranean knives, because our cutlery tradition comes from people in that region. Initially my plan was to forge the blade entirely by hand, but on forging day I had some delays and ended up using the press to save time. The handle was made from the base of the deer horn, which we call here “deer crown“. I really like this material because it is extremely resistant and has a rustic and noble appearance at the same time. The fit was very tight, in the video you can even hear a click when adjusting. It's a simple project in a way, but with a lot of visual appeal and a strong meaning for a people who had the knife as their main tool in their daily lives. Olá, Pessoal! Nesse vídeo trago uma faca gaúcha. P
