Ride on PCC 3268 on a full trip between Mattapan and the Ashmont Red Line station. The Mattapan-Ashmont Line is an extension of the MBTA's Red Line. Opened in 1929, the line was called “The High Speed Line“ because the route avoided traffic on the local city streets. The route was formerly a steam railroad line. The PCC car we're riding on entered service in 1946. The cars are the last Pullman-Standard built PCC cars still in revenue service. They are also the last “air-electric“ cars, and the oldest PCCs in revenue service anywhere. We hope you enjoy our latest video. please like the video and subscribe to our page. Thanks for watching!
