This is footage of Ballets Russes Andre Eglevsky (1917-1977) and Maria Tallchief (1925-2013) performing a pas de deux to the Adagio from Mendelssohn’s ’Scotch Symphony’. The performance was broadcast on the Bell Telephone Hour on the 9th April 1959. I am very happy to upload this footage in part in tribute to the great native American ballerina, Maria Tallchief, who passed away this year and who did so much for the prestige of home-grown ballet dancers in her country.
