Septeto Trio Los Dos is without question my favorite Cuban Son group. They are based in the Netherlands, but spend many weeks each year in Santiago De Cuba where they have a devoted following. Tresero Pepito Domingo is my favorite kind of player, traditional setup (octaves on his E course and tunes to C) yet his improvisations are very modern and lyrical much like Enrique Abdón Collazo of Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro. They have two wonderful albums that are available from the iTunes store and on CDBaby.
