Happiest of Holidays to all, y'all! “O Holy Night“ (“Cantique de Noël“) is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem “Minuit, chrétiens“ (Midnight, Christians) by a wine merchant and poet, Placide Cappeau, a professed anticlerical and atheist. Hmmm. Oh holy night! The stars are brightly shining It is the night of the dear Savior's birth! Long lay the world in sin and error pining Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
