Sight-singing is not just for vocalists; it is one of the best forms of ear training (if not THE BEST). This video contains 13 levels of sight singing exercises using the treble clef, which is the most common clef for sopranos, altos, and tenors, but is still useful for any musician to learn. View the bass clef edition HERE: If you have any ambition of being a music teacher or choir director, you need to know both clefs. Most importantly, sight singing helps you accurately hear music in your head. I'm primarily a guitarist and keyboardist, but sight singing has transformed the way I play music. I use both scale degrees numbers and the moveable do method of solfège. If you used fixed do, you’ll just have to ignore the solfège that’s spelled out during the listening phase of the exercise.
