From the North, the South, the Hauts-Plateaux or the Coast, musical styles, rich in ancient orality, flourish in the Big Island, and are more alive than ever... The meeting of the masters of Madagascar, all from different cultural groups, is part of the fihavanana, a Malagasy philosophy which wants to weave the bonds of solidarity, bring peace, respect and mutual aid between the men of the red island. Here tradition is not rigid, on the contrary it enriches the artistic project and draws the colors of the future. Ny Malagasy Orkestra is the living crucible in which these musical traditions are shared, re-written, re-formulated, re-invented, to carry the message of an artistic and human encounter, of a music that is enriched by the heritage of the past, and to move towards new forms of creation.
