Gurlitt (1820-1901) was a German composer. He was a classmate of Carl Reinecke, whose father was head of the famous Leipzig Conservatory. Gurlitt studied with Reinecke’s father for six years. His first public appearance at the age of seventeen was well received, and he decided to go to Copenhagen to continue his studies. There he studied organ, piano, and composition under Curlander and Weyse. While in Copenhagen he became acquainted with the Danish composer Niels Gade, and they remained friends until Gade’s death. 0:00 Valse 1:46 Gavotte 3:38 Ländler 6:23 Redowa 9:17 Menuet 11:46 Polonaise 14:52 Tarantelle 16:49 Polka 20:14 Zapateado 21:47 Mazurka 24:39 Pas burlesque 25:37 Promenade That was a lot of work and I hope you enjoy it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A method to find scores: - My donation link to keep the channel growing: Thanks for listening :-)
