The Penguins wanted to get off to a quick start against the Devils in their second-straight game against New Jersey, and Colton Sceviour certainly helped with that. Sceviour scored his first goal of the game only 2:35 into the contest, and added his second of the game under three minutes later. The Devils answered towards the end of the opening frame, but Bryan Rust would end up being the lone goalscorer of the 2nd period, earning his 17th of the season. Rust now has 3G-1A in his last two games against New Jersey. Jake Guentzel scored only 1:19 into the final period on the power play, netting his 18th of the year, and while the Devils would get one back from P.K. Subban, Guentzel struck again, this time, into the empty net. Guentzel now has 19 points (9G-10A) in 18 career games against New Jersey, and has points in six-straight contests against the Devils.
