Visit Visit our website This silent, 16mm home movie shows a trip across the Pacific to Hawaii from San Francisco, and then on to Guam and Shanghai. The film offers glimpses of the aftermath of World War II’s Pacific Theater (TRT 12:03). It was shot by an unknown American who was in Shanghai, China in 1946-1948 time period. It is part of a group of 16mm movies shot by an unknown American who was working for the OMEA, or Officer's Moral Endeavor Association, a sort of non-governmental, YMCA type group operating in post-WWII China. The film starts with a view of the San Francisco Skyline from the Bay. Coit Tower is visible (0:09). A boy in a cowboy outfit dances spasmodically (0:22). A family picnics, blowing kisses (0:27).
