Something that can help a lot of you out there on defense and overall performance! Learn more on my IG! I've talked a lot about this in the past but here are some examples. If we're overly tense mentally or physically, our movements are going to be stiff and our reactions will be “jumpy“. This is “freaking out“. This can come from tension in the body or fear of the ball, nervousness or other things. If we stay in this state, we'll be seeing the game go by faster and miss out on valuable information for us to respond to. When we learn to relax our minds, our body follows. We can enter a flow state where we are relaxed but READY. Meaning no extra tension throughout the body, just fluid movement and quick reactions. We're now able to SLOW the game down and gather much more information, respond accordingly and ALLOW our body to do the movements we've trained ourselves to do. Something you can do is practice slow breathing regularly and focusing on the breath, coming back to it if you get distracted. When we practice our movements and expose ourselves to these situations, we also gain more confidence because we know we've prepared and have been in this situation before. Unfreakability is about the mind and the body being calm and ready at the moment of “stress“, allowing us to see the game slow and respond fast. #volleyball #volleyballtraining #volleyballplayer #volleyballdrill #libero #volleyballtime #vball #volleyballscience
