Bharat Bandh: Violence in West Bengal, Strike Near Total in Kerala & Protesters Detained in Chennai

Bharat Bandh was observed across the country on 8 January. Protesters in West Bengal torched vehicles and ransacked government buses, including a police van. The strike was near total in Left-ruled Kerala, with vehicles, including state-owned KSRTC and private buses keeping off the roads.
