On Saturday, July 3, Victoria Tereshkina reigns on the Mariinsky historical stage. The astounding prima ballerina, who has danced a great many roles during the twenty years she’s been with the Mariinsky, will demonstrate different sides of her incredible talent. Victoria has put together a very special program for the audience. The evening opens with the mysterious and exciting Pierrot Lunaire by Alexei Ratmansky (2008). Then we go back a hundred years, to the passionate Scheherazade by Mikhail Fokin, which stunned and outraged the audience back in 1910. The program is culminated in Diamonds by George Balanchine, a brilliant reflection on classical ballet, a hymn to the Petersburg imperial style. Victoria will be partnered by Alexander Sergeev, Roman Malyshev, Maxim Zyuzin, Kimin Kim (Scheherazade), Vladimir Shklyarov (Diamonds).
