China and Japan just reached a consensus on Fukushima's radioactive water discharge. -China still opposes Japan's discharge which ignored international concerns and maintains its ban on Japanese aquatic products. -Japan agreed to independent monitoring by China as part of long-term international supervision. - Both sides also agreed to keep the dialogue open and to make future decisions based on science. The consensus came after more than ten rounds of negotiations and was not related to the recent stabbing incident in Shenzhen.
