Mirjan Fort (ಮಿರ್ಜಾನ್ ಕೋಟೆ) is located on the west coast of the Uttara Kannada (North Canara) between Ankola and Kumta towns. Archelogical sources say that Shareeff-Ul-Mulk (1608-1640 AD), ruling Ponda as the fuedatory of the Adil Shahi Sultan of Bijapur, got this fort constructed. Read more about Mirjan fort at
