Cypraea mauritiana Linnaeus, 1758 get to World Record Sizes in Hawaiian Waters. Found this living specimen today while fishing off Sand Island in the middle of busy Honolulu Harbor across bustling Downtown Honolulu, Hawaii. Since it was exposed i hid it in an area that would keep it safe. Should be living in wave swept rocks, it’s natural habitat, not in the open on a man made concrete pillar where others will see it. Didn’t feel right so i took it with me to my next fishing spot where it’ll live naturally
