Kandinsky Noir is a Berlin based solo project by Anto inspired by EBM, Post-Punk, Industrial, Progressive Metal sounds. The focus of the composition is on relentless odd time signatures, heavy dissonant guitar riffs, catchy choruses and a combination of guttural and clean vocals. Feeling Nothing (The Privilege of the Rope) is a suite in 3 parts revolving about the presence of different saxophone leitmotivs that permeate the structure of the piece. It is a praise of failure, an ode to existential emptiness. The choice of the sax as the main instrument is due to its unique nature related to breathing: when the music stops, the breathing stops. The long solo at the end creates a sort of double movement between the almost black metal double kick drum pattern and the soothing sound of the brass, as a crescendo towards the inevitable tragedy, in fear and relief.
