Petulant toddler: John Mellencamp has meltdown over request to sing and not talk politics

Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi has responded to a video of American singer-songwriter John Mellencamp’s “pathetic” meltdown on stage after an audience member asked him to play music rather than preach about politics. In the video posted on social media by a concertgoer, Mellencamp is seen responding to the criticism with foul language before threatening to ‘stop the show’ and ‘go home.’ “What a pathetic little tantrum,“ Ms Panahi said. “First the outburst, then the threat they will cut ten songs from the set and shortchange his own fans that have paid to see him sing, not preach – sing. “And then he sings for about ten seconds and runs off stage like a petulant toddler.”
