For such a simple game from the early 90s, Doom 2 (and Doom 1 to an extent) has incredibly deep strategy and gameplay. In this video, I talk about what makes Doom 2 so deep and I mainly focus on examples from community made maps. If you like difficult games and found what I said interesting, I heavily implore you to check out custom Doom content. Even if you don’t like hard maps, there’s still plenty of WADs made for every skill level. Thumbnail painted by Me Special thanks to Speedrunner and Mapper rd. Since I’m not a very good Doom player, nor have I played that many WADs, she helped me out on finding examples (Sunlust Map 19, Haste Map 06, Fractured Worlds 32).
