List of victims' names: žrtava-rata-1941-1945 Testimonies of survivors: @JasenovacMemorial/videos Documentaries with English subs: DESCRIPTION: As explained earlier, we have no real way of determining the true number of victims of Croatian Ustasha camps. Мany excavation attempts were forbidden or otherwise impossible to carry out (tearing down communist buildings, stadiums, etc. built on death pits; and political reasons). Because of this, many war crime institutes tried to do the research on horrific crimes in Nazi Croatia of Ustashas topic independently and without the approval of Tito’s communist state ending up with different results concerning the number of victims and the genocide participants (1941-1945). -Eugene Tisserant reported to the Vatican of Serb victims by August 1942. -Edmund Glaise von Horstenau, Hitler’s Plenipotentiary General to Croatia, reports to Hitler that over Serb civilians were barbarically butchered by the start of 1943. -Hermann Neubacher, Hitler’s special envoy for Balkans and Greece, estimated the number of Serb civilians to be around by March 1944. “International institute for truth about Jasenovac” from New York estimated number of butchered Serb civilians in Jasenovac camp complex to be between and (1941-1945) also stating that many bodies were dumped into the Sava and Neretva rivers floating all the way to Black and Adriatic seas, or burnt to ashes and turned into soaps, etc. -Jonathan Gumz in his PhD, states multiple sources and has estimated number of Serb victims killed by Croatian Ustashas between and (1941-1944) counting Jasenovac and all the other concentration and death camps of Croatian Ustashas in book “German Counterinsurgency policy in Independent Croatia 1941-1944”. -Gideon Greif stated that “At least 800,000 Serbs and 40,000 Jews had been killed in Jasenovac in the most brutal manner. Jasenovac was the empire of death.“ Greif also pointed out and added that any kind of revisionism (aka denying and rewriting proven facts) represents a second murder of the victims. According to the research of “Shem Olam” institute for Holocaust from Israel in their study ”Jasenovac – Auschwitz of the Balkans” there were 57 different and the cruelest ways of killing imaginable in the Jasenovac death camp complex. Croatian Ustashas are the only Nazi and overall criminal organization in history that had special death camps just for children under 14 years of age. Up to this day there are as many as 5 child camps documented: Jastrebarsko, Sisak, Livno, Gornja Rijeka, and Caprag (all in modern Croatia). So far, a total of 74,762 Serb children under the age of 14 have been tortured and then murdered throughout Ustashas’ child camps and other death camps of “Independent state of Croatia” aka Nazi Croatia (19,432 of which in Jasenovac only). The barbarism of Croatian Ustashas and the conditions of their camps were so bad, even the German Nazis were shocked and disturbed. Reports to Hitler make it look like they‘re actually “the good guys“ in comparison to Croatian Ustashas... Edmund Glaise von Horstenau in his diary: „A group of about 500 bandits and killers under the command of Ustasha officers had raided the unfortunate village. They murdered everything they could, raped women and then tortured them till death. Even the children were killed. In the Sava river I saw a woman‘s body with eyes gouged out and a piece of wood inserted into her genitalia. Poor soul. She wasn‘t more than 20 y.o. when she fell into the hands of those beasts and vampires.“ Edmund Glaise von Horstenau writes about his visit to child death camp in Sisak: ‘‘We set out to visit the camp in Sisak which was housed in a factory building. I saw only a few men, but lots of women and children, having barely any clothes whose beds were as cold as stone. Bare skeletons. Prisoners were crying and wailing. In one room, along the wall, on the sparse straw thrown there because of my visit, I saw about 50 naked children, some already dead, some almost dying. I told the Ustasha escort: when a man sees this, he can only spit. Just to spit, yes, my gentlemen!” #jasenovac #how_to_serb #genocide_memorial
