In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the health benefits of keto and intermittent fasting for people with eating disorders. Many people with eating disorders consume a tremendous amount of carbohydrates, resulting in severe blood sugar problems. Blood sugar issues often lead to cognitive and mood issues such as irritability, anxiety, and depression. You may no longer feel like yourself! When done correctly, keto and intermittent fasting allow you to burn fat for fuel instead of sugar. This can elevate your mood and eliminate anxiety and depression. It can also help diminish impulsive behavior like disordered eating and pull you out of a low emotional state. If you have an eating disorder, ensure that you do keto and intermittent fasting healthfully. Don’t restrict calories, eat two meals per day, eliminate snacking, and consume plenty of healthy fats. An eating disorder doesn’t have to keep you from the benefits of keto and intermittent fasting!
