⚔️ 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲! The large macrophage cell rapidly recognises and engulfs three lymphoma cells (the small, circular cells), working to protect healthy cells from cancer cells. Nanolive’s refractive index imaging shows the macrophage cell membrane reaching out and contacting the lymphoma cells before beginning phagocytosis. Once inside the macrophage, lymphoma cells start to be digested and destroyed. Many thanks to scientist Akil Merchant for allowing us to share this amazing capture!
