This is a lament written by the renowned French scholar Peter Abelard. It takes the form of David mourning over his beloved friend Jonathan and Jonathan's father King Saul. The parallels between Abelard's own personal tragedy and David's can be inferred in the intensity of the language. The images are all in the public domain and cover aspects of David's life and also of Abelard's. The singing demands a wide range of pitch and emotion. The recording was done at Move Studios in 1994.
