Replacing the rocker covers and spark plugs on a 3.0 V6 ES9J4S engine. As fitted to the Peugeot 406, 607, Citroen C5 & C6, Renault Laguna and Avantime. It should be a vaguely similar procedure to the older ES9 engine fitted to earlier versions of these cars and the Xantia, XM, 605. The rocker covers on these V6 engines can leak oil as they get older, this oil on the exhaust manifolds can cause a burning oil smell and smoke. It is also a potential fire hazzard, so not something to be ignored for too long. While not an overly difficult job it is time consuming as there are 4 rocker covers to do, and an inlet manifold to remove. Access to most parts is suprisingly good and everything comes apart with ease. I also had to deal with a broken crankcase breather part, which i fixed up using new vacuum lines.
