Video footage recorded by Yuya Yamazaki, a Kesennuma Coast Guard employee. He took this footage around 3:00 PM from the Kesennuma Government Building. The tsunami flowed into the bay dragging away parked cars. Ships were also swept away by the torrent of water. The tsunami flows into the urban area, turning into muddy water, destroying houses and washing away everything in its path. As the water receded it, debris and many fishing boats were washed out to the sea. After the tsunami subsided, buildings and debris floating in the water began to catch fire.
