This is sparkling pygmy gouramis breeding. If you’re new to this channel, you can check out the video where the eggs have successfully hatched here: I’ve tried everything to prevent these guys from breeding. The tank’s turnover rate is very high with a very strong current. There are no floating plants. I’ve done very big water changes each week to keep the PH above neutral. Somehow the pair, the same pair(I’m pretty sure), managed to find one spot in the tank that didn't have any flow - under the driftwood. Capturing these guys breeding was luck. The video quality isn't that great b/c I shot it in auto. I didn’t have time to fiddle with the camera settings b/c the breeding happened very fast. I'm only feeding them TetraMin Flakes once a day, and some Hikari frozen brine shrimp once a week. I’m not sure exactly why the eggs didn’t hatch. It might’ve been the higher PH, or maybe the male felt threatened and ate them. I’ve rearranged the driftwood since, and the pair hasn’t tried to breed far.
