Parterre by Nailah Nombeko Performed by Thomas Clippinger Video by Matthew Anderson HAVE Productions LLC Audio by Phil Goldenberg This piece was inspired by the beauty of the gardens that I saw on my trip to Austria. I tried to find a way to musically capture some of the natural beauty that I found in Salzburg. I loved the contrast between the liveliness of Vienna versus the calmness and the feeling of being in the countryside in Salzburg. Most of the piece has a chordal texture with just a very brief excursion to a virtuosic single-line texture towards the end before returning to the original theme.
