At long last, the second full-length by this imperial horde is upon us. On their 14th year of existence, and 14 years after the recording session of the already classic, “Antichrist Rise to Power“, as well as its sibling project, Venusberg Cardinal's debut, Departure Chandelier's second onslaught arrives with pride and triumph. A project which should need no introduction, spearheaded three of the most prominent names of 21st century Black Metal, Departure Chandelier plays an ode to ancient French Black Metal mastery, honoring acts such as Cantus Bestiae, Osculum Infame or Blessed in Sin with a sound seeping in medieval mysticism, tyrannic aggression and grit and elitist spirit. A combination of scorching guitars, ablaze in both sorrow and might and adamant in adopting any trace of modernity, and with an ever more rich and tight songwriting and delivery than the debut, perfectly accompanied by the echoing grandeur of the keyboards and vitriolic vocals and carried by the furious pummelign and impeccable drums.
